January Haul

So I've bought a lot of book this month and thought I should share it with you!

The first book that I bought this month was 'His Bloody Project' by Graeme Macrae Burnet, which tells the story of Roderick Macrae who in 1869 had commited a triple murder. The book starts with witness accounts, then moves onto the Criminal's memoir of the events leading up to him committing the murders. The account that Roderick writes makes it very clear that he is guilty and shows no remorse, it's even conveyed in a calm tone.

The trial that takes place later in the books constantly questions his state of mind when he comitted the acts and it's a really interesting insight into his thoughts.

I'd really recommend this book as I've already read it and it's really interesting. I don't normally read stuff like this but it has really interested me! (as you can see by all of the post-its)

The next one I bought I got with the next two as they were 3 for £5 (and who can pass that and not buy all 3). This one is 'I'll Give You The Sun' by Jandy Nelson. I had been seeing this book everywhere. Inthis book Noah and Jude are twins and (for a reason I haven't discovered yet) they aren't on speaking terms. Then, they start falling for the same guys! I feel like this is going to be a fun contemporary to read and I'm really excited to start it!

I then bought 'Glass Sword' by Victoria Aveyard, the sequal to 'Red Queen'. I didn't realise this at the time... Bought it... don't have the first one....

So I don't want to read anything into the synopsis of this one as I'm scared that I'll be spoiled!

The next one is 'Dream a Little Dream' by Giovanna Fletcher. I'm so excited to read this as I've always wanted to read one of G's books. From the blurb what I can gather is this book is about Sarah, whos been single for the last few years and everyones moving on in her life but her. Then,  she starts dreaming about a 'handsome stranger' who then makes a real life appearance. I'm so excited about this (did I say that already?) I'm looking for the perfect contemporary at the moment and this seems to fit the bill!

And the last one is 'Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe' by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I bought this book because Ren had said that it's amazing, so I'm trusting her opinion. I know this one isn't a sequal but I just don't want to spoil this one in anyway, I want to be throughly surpriseed.

I will let you know how it goes when I read them!
